The GNACTA held a critical side event entitled, The Ignored Pandemic: the need for action against corruption in health on 13 December 2023. This event was well attended with over 60 in-person participants and an additional 30 participants online.
Members of GNACTA also submitted a Conference Room Paper, which was also approved.
Further details, including a recording of the event and a copy of the Conference Room Paper can be found below.
The UN General Assembly will convene three High-Level Meetings on the topics of pandemic preparedness and response (PPR), universal health coverage (UHC) and on ending tuberculosis during its 78th session (UNGA 78) in New York in September 2023. These present a historic opportunity for world leaders to place health back on the high-level political agenda.
This event will problematize these critical topics and shed light on the impact of corruption on UHC and pandemic preparedness and response. Join us for an exciting discussion followed by reception!
